The Boat

Lehe Paine is a 2006 Beneteau Oceanis 393, 3-cabin version with the standard 6'3" keel.  We bought her in Canada in early 2009 ahead of our transfer to Everett, WA.  The layout works well for our family of four as each kid has their own space--this was key to this being a boat that would last years for us.  The two heads are a nice touch, too.

We've added a radar arch that holds our dinghy and two Sanyo 225 watt solar panels, a Magnum 2012 charger/inverter, two Cruiseair turbo A/C units, and LED lights throughout.  In 2018 we got a new dodger and bimini, and we swapped out the front head/holding tank for an AirHead composting toilet.  2019 additions include a new B&G navigation suite, Dyneema lifelines, and a 33gph water maker designed and installed by Captain Frank. In 2020, the galley got refreshed with Daich Coatings countertop refinishing product, new sink orientation, new faucet, and under-sink water filter.

"Lehe Paine" (pronounced LAY-hay PIE-nay) loosely translates to "(light) Blue Water" in the Tehuelche language.  We were introduced to this language on a trip to Patagonia and figured a language that was used by a nomadic tribe was fitting for our lifestyle.
