Yep, still cold here in Maryland. I can not wait to get rid of half of these jackets!

(a little) More storage
Frank has been taking the saw to the wood above some voids and adding hinges so we can get into them for just a wee bit more storage around the boat. This is really helpful considering we have people trying to live/eat/work/school/play in a 39' boat. This is a little cut out in Trent's cabin. Wish we would have done this sooner as it gives us great access to some of the wiring!

NYC Adventure
The crew hopped on the train Thursday and headed up to New York City for a quick adventure! We crammed SO much in to a few days! Pizza, cannolis, bagels, Broadway, shopping, Times Square, the Empire State Building, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, Wall Street, bus tours, the 9/11 Memorial & Museum, bus tours, and Central Park. So. Much. FUN! I thought taking the train was super relaxing and convenient. It was freezing cold for half of the trip, but everyone bundled and made the best of it. Best Christmas present!!!

Forward Head Conversion, continued...
...and complete! At least for this use. Clearing out the holding tank left this great big space behind the bulkhead. We removed the panel, cleaned it up, got creative in the hardware store plumbing section, and...ta da! We have a wet locker! I may add some netting at the base to add some more storage possibilities, but for now our foul weather gear has a new home. And this composting head is not stinky at all! WAY better than our old head!
We've seen other folks with this boat use the space for a water maker and use the bulkhead panel as an access door to that system. We saved the panel just in case we decide to go that route after some time cruising.

Winter Marina Life
We are staying busy and warm this winter! Yesterday the fellas knocked out some routine maintenance on the portable generator before the snow started to fall, and today we went sledding, built a snowman, and had a great snowball fight! I really don't mind winter...the boat is cozy and warm and I like cooking and snuggling to get even warmer!
