Planes, trains, and automobiles

This weekend was kid pick-up weekend.  We flew to FL to grab K on Friday, then drove to LA to see our friends there and pick up T.  Yesterday we hopped on a train with tears in our eyes and headed north.  We have so many great people in our lives!  

The train was a different experience for us.  I think if we do an over-nighter again, we need to lay out the money for a sleeper car.  It was a little rough, but I still love seeing the country that way!

Summer Camp, Part 2

The kiddos are away again this week.  This time, Katreina is going to the National Flight Academy in Pensacola, FL.  This is actually a really cool opportunity she got by winning a scholarship for military kids from Delta Airlines.  I was really impressed by the facility.

While she is spending the week in FL, Trent flew solo to LA to visit his old friends in Slidell.  We have such amazing friends that will accept another kiddo into their homes!  I took this screenshot of our family while I was on my layover in ATL--I miss them all right now, but I love that they have these opportunities!

Taking a little Trippe

With the whole crew back onboard we headed for the Choptank River and a peaceful anchorage in Trippe Creek. It was just relaxing.  And we got treats from Scottish Highland Creamery!

They are back!

Ok, I only got pickup photos of the girl, but I am so happy to have both kiddos back from camp tonight!  The sky was lit up beautifully to welcome them home!

Independence Celebration

"Independence" takes on a whole new meaning this year as our youngest crew members are off at camp this weekend.  We heard that the Sultana is docking in Annapolis for the 4th--K is so lucky!

We enjoyed a dock cookout and the marina fireworks on the 3rd, then relaxed on the Bay on the 4th. It was different without the kiddos, but we still had a very nice holiday!

Camp time

It's a "new" thing for our crew this year--summer camp. Actually "camps" is more correct, but this weekend both kiddos headed to overnight, week-long camps.  T went to Camp Letts where he is REALLY excited to play paintball, while K boarded the Sultana for a week of sailing and learning about the Bay.  I hope they have a blast!

Girls Weekend!

K and J hopped on a flight to CT this weekend for the wedding of a family friend.  It was a great weekend with my girl, a great weekend with my college friends, and I came home with some great ink!
